We are so excited to welcome you to our blog, GLORIA GABS!
We thought this would be a great opportunity to really fill you in on what GLORIA is so you can get to know who we are and what we stand for.
Let’s give you the background story…
GLORIA started as an app that gave clients access to their wardrobe digitally on their phone (Yes, think Cher’s closet from Clueless). Stylists would go into their clients home, snap photos of their pieces, edit and save them into their digital wardrobe. By doing so, this gave stylists the ability to dress their clients for any occasion from their digital wardrobe using our proprietary look-book-builder tool. It was, and still is, a great service that we encourage stylists to offer because it’s an additional revenue stream for you, but also a great service for your clients (we can go into more detail about these later).
Fast forward a few months…
We realized how useful it was to be able to style your clients from your mobile device, so we thought, why shouldn’t you be able to run your entire business from one App and all from your mobile phone? Which brings us to what the GLORIA app is today- a platform for stylists to be able to run their own business.
As GLORIA continues to grow, we want to be able to extend our support beyond just the mobile app which is why we’ve decided to create GLORIA GABS and host GLORIA-GET-TOGETHERS. We want to use our platform to offer you, the stylist, the support and community you need to flourish.
What can you expect to see on our blog posts and monthly newsletters?
These will have anything and everything to do with fashion/styling. From creative business and marketing tactics to help you expand your business, to style tips and video tutorials, to upcoming events in your area and also keeping you up-to-date on what’s happening within the fashion community.
So, who are the people behind GLORIA?
Brittany Maldonado-Gosline; Meet our Co-Founder
Hi- I am Brittany, one of the co-founders of our beloved GLORIA. I have been lucky enough to work in many aspects of the Fashion Industry from new company management and operations, design, styling, modeling, opening retail stores, and now app management and design. I love what I do and the people I work with here at GLORIA. I am so excited to utilize all of my experience but to also learn something new along the way! Fun note, I have a love for the ocean and a knack for finding a good laugh!
Lauren de Leon; Meet our Co-Founder
I am originally from the Central Valley, but in recent years have decided to make San Francisco my home base. My love for creating has allowed me to wear many different hats within the Fashion Industry. It was during my time as a stylist at a startup that really sparked my interest in technology and social platforms. GLORIA is so special to me because it brings together my love for fashion and tech to create a platform that truly is designed with the stylist in mind. Outside of GLORIA, I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes (some successful, others not so much) and spending time with my niece and nephew!
Miquan Antonio Brooks; Director of Public Relations & Communications
I discovered my love for fashion as a high school student when I realized that clothes had the power to alter the perceptions others had of me. As a student of the inner city of Los Angeles, the social standard of dress was baggy and ill-fitting. One day I decided to go against the grain and dress for Me. I began my fashion career in 2007 as a design student and I enrolled in courses at the Academy of Art University to study fashion design. Since then, I gained over 10 years of experience within the industry from working as a retail associate, fashion stylist, image consultant, project manager, creative director and now Director of PR. My mission is to help young adults and teens build their self-confidence by finding the “right image” for themselves as I had found for myself in my late teens.
Now that you’ve gotten to know a little bit about us, we’d love the opportunity to get to know you!
Come join us at our first GLORIA-GET-TOGETHER stylist networking event on Thursday, January 24th at The Designer Consignor from 7PM-9PM. We’ll have some bubbly, snacks and amazing conversation (and not just with us, but with other stylists from all over SF)!
